How to prepare pasta with seafood Provençal style? It is really very simple and it is an ideal recipe to enjoy on the hottest days of the year.

This is a recipe that can be prepared with practically any type of shellfish, but in my case I am going to use two of the most common: mussels and shrimps.

Keep in mind that these shellfish cook very quickly (approximately 3 minutes). Therefore, we will have to have good timing and calculate the order of the preparations to avoid overcooking them excessively.

Ingredients for one portion

  • 1 portion of pasta of your choice (in my case bucatini)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Parsley
  • Lemon
  • Salt
  • White wine
  • 2 ounces of mussels
  • 2 ounces of shrimps

How to prepare pasta with seafood Provençal style

  1. We start with garlic and parsley. We are going to chop them very finely.
  2. Now take a handful of pasta of your choice, in my case I am going to use bucatini. They are like spaghetti but thicker and have a small hole in the middle, giving it a tube shape.
  3. In a pot with boiling water add salt to taste and put the noodles to cook. (Do not cut them in half, when they start to cook they will bend and fit perfectly in the pot).
  4. In a hot pan, add a little olive oil and add the garlic. Then add the seafood (I used a handful of mussels and a handful of shrimp).
  5. Add half of the parsley we chopped previously, salt and a good splash of white wine. We wait a few minutes for the alcohol to evaporate.
  6. We wait until the noodles are almost cooked. When they are one minute away, strain them and add them to the pan with a little of the cooking water.
  7. Stir to integrate everything and add the remaining fresh parsley that we had previously chopped.
  8. Everything is now ready to serve. Finish the dish with a squeeze of lemon juice.

The dish of pasta with seafood Provençal style has a combination of flavors that is excellent to eat in the summer since it is very fresh and rich. Ideal to serve with white wine (not sweet).

Serving this pasta with seafood with a dry white wine is an excellent choice. Traditional white wines are ideal to accompany this pasta with seafood, as the flavor of the seafood blends beautifully with the flavors of the dry white wines.

For a unique experience, you can pair this pasta with a sparkling wine. The combination of sweet, fruity and slightly acidic flavors of the sparkling wine will make this pasta with seafood even more refreshing.

What we do not recommend is to pair this dish with a sweet white wine, as this type of wine combines much better with other types of dishes.
